Road Flooding Alert

Wellington Road is currently closed due to flooding of the Douglas River over the bridge near Chapmans Road.

Council is reminding residents to be careful around flood waters and never walk, drive or ride through floodwater.

We will be clearing roads and paths to make them safe, which could take some time, depending on the scale of the storm. We will then return to clear the nature strips as soon as practicable in the following weeks. Please try to help Council by keeping any debris clear of roads and paths until it can be removed

Council has been working closely with Emergency Services in preparation for this storm event, inspecting drainage pits in flood-prone areas and organising additional sandbagging in anticipation of protecting residents’ properties.
